What is Diffusion Bonding?
‘Diffusion bonding’ is a method of bonding by pressing base materials together at a temperature below their melting point with minimal plastic deformation, utilizing the diffusion of atoms at the joint interface.
By laminating, complex 3D shapes can be created, and by bonding dissimilar materials, new composites and novel materials with properties such as electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, magnetism, and specific gravity can be developed.
